Polyvagal-informed therapy works gently with the body rather than pushing for insight or change through effort alone. Sessions may include noticing bodily cues, working with breath, movement, sound, or rhythm, and learning how to recognize early signs of stress or activation.
The work is paced slowly and respectfully, especially for people with trauma histories or chronic stress. You remain in control of what feels manageable. There is no need to relive past experiences for this work to be effective.
Over time, many people notice a greater sense of calm, improved emotional regulation, and an increased ability to stay present during stress. Polyvagal work helps build a foundation of safety that supports healing across many areas of life.
