Safe & Sound Protocol

The Safe & Sound Protocol is a listening-based intervention designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and social engagement. It uses specially filtered music to gently stimulate the vagus nerve, helping the nervous system shift out of chronic survival responses. This approach is grounded in polyvagal theory and supports how the body responds to stress, connection, and sensory input.

The Safe & Sound Protocol does not require talking about difficult experiences. The work happens through the nervous system, allowing regulation and integration to develop gradually.

Ways the Safe & Sound Protocol Can Support You

Support That Adapts to You

The Safe & Sound Protocol is introduced with guidance from a trained provider and paced carefully based on your nervous system responses. Listening sessions may happen in-clinic or at home, depending on what is most appropriate and supportive for you.

The process is flexible and responsive. Breaks, adjustments, and gradual pacing are part of the approach, especially for those with trauma histories, sensory sensitivity, or chronic stress. You remain in control throughout.

Many people notice changes such as increased calm, improved emotional regulation, or greater ease in connection. Over time, the nervous system may feel more settled and resilient, supporting progress across other areas of therapy and daily life.
