EVC Celebrates 10 Years Supporting East Van!

We’re so happy to recognize our 10th anniversary working to support the residents of East Vancouver (and beyond)!

From our early days on Quebec Street, to our lovely offices on East 10th Avenue with the incredible view that we had there, to our current location on Commercial Dr. at First Ave., our team has steadily grown in numbers and capacity.

Our services have always been grounded in the East Van values that resonate for us: authenticity, acceptance, social responsibility, and inclusivity. Our team members hold and share a high standard of practice and agree to work within these shared values. We believe that these values echo what we see in our community.

You may have met our team members at the McSpadden County Fair, or the Wellness Show, or seen information about us online. Our Graduate level counsellors all work independently in a structure that allows for a mix of autonomy and collegiality with a central connection that holds us in community. We don’t have a flashy street presence, and our offices are comfortable and homey. We just want to stay true to what’s important: you.

We believe strongly in client autonomy, which means that you have a choice in who you decide to work with. We have a lot of people on our team, so you can look through the list and reach out directly, or you can contact our Admin for help to narrow down the choices.

We won’t assign you a counsellor – we’ll offer you some options to try to see who feels like the best fit for you and then encourage you to book one or more free consultation sessions to meet team members who seem interesting to you. We don’t assume that someone will be a great fit just because they look good on paper or specialize in in a specific area – there are so many factors that make it feel right to open up to someone, and we want you to have a choice in that.

In reflection of our rich and diverse community, our team members hold a wide range of diverse backgrounds, interests, trainings, areas of specialization, and supportive techniques. From trauma counselling, couples support, parenting, creative therapies, career and vocational work, family relationships, burnout, anxiety and mood disorders, substance use & abuse, neurodivergence, identity and sexuality – and more –  we’ve got someone who can help you out.

When you are looking for support, please feel free to check us out.
