Joshua Cytrynbaum

MA, RCC

Josh currently has a waitlist for new clients.

Josh is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and has been immersed within the mental health field for over 13 years, mainly working in the non-profit sector.  His approach to therapy is rooted in person-centred, trauma-informed, and intersectional approaches.  Specifically, he utilizes many aspects of Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Existential Therapy to aid clients.  In less psychobabbly terms, Josh tries to straddle the line between providing insight and tangible tools to aid his clients in reducing their suffering, while also recognizing that we are not automatons whose pain can be completely alleviated by tools alone – and that by solely working to “fix” internal mechanisms, you can oftentimes discount the immense social, societal, historical, and personal histories a person inherits and the trials we have survived.  He believes therapy, at its best, is able to hold a space for all of these things in equal measure.
