Hi folks! My name is Galina (they/them) and I am an EMDR-trained trauma therapist living and working in Vancouver, BC.
I have about 10 years of experience as a frontline worker in Downtown Eastside’s low barrier social housing, specializing in resident support, outreach, and community development. I understand firsthand the many challenges empathetic people face while working in high-paced, resource-scarce environments.
Today, I provide mental health support to frontline workers and anyone who is experiencing burnout workplace or school stress, compassion fatigue, workplace trauma, and moral injury (a type of traumatic stress that occurs when the worker violates their own moral code in the course of their occupation).
As a trauma therapist, I work extensively with anxiety, depression, suicidality, shame and self-blame, and loss of meaning. I also provide support to post-secondary students and adults with ADHD who struggle with time management, multitasking, maintaining focus, impulse control, and emotion regulation.
A great deal of my work is situated in the queer community. I work with LGBTQIA-specific concerns, such as sexual orientation and gender identity exploration, navigating relationships and communities, and recovery from religious trauma.
