Antonio is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Teaching Degree. He is a Certified EMDR Therapist and a Certified Adlerian Counsellor, trained in Advanced Somatic Therapy, Advanced Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Family Constellations Therapy, Therapeutic Enactment Therapy, Addictions Counselling, Vocational Counselling and Energy Psychology.
Antonio has worked in the field of counselling since 1994, and his experience as a counsellor includes working as a Concurrent Disorders Counsellor for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and other government agencies for over twenty five years, providing mental health services for marginalized communities, self-referred people of various diversity and cultural backgrounds and for people referred by WorkSafeBC, BC Victim Services Program and ICBC.
Antonio is an Adjunct Faculty at Adler University and a Clinical Supervisor for Graduate Students from 2012 to the present. He has extensive experience in the treatment of Complex Psychological Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Addictions and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Grief and loss, Chronic Pain, and assists people with Life Transition, Cultural Adjustment, Career Exploration, Couples Therapy and Personality Style Issues.
In addition, Antonio designs and facilitates Trauma Therapy Groups, Addictions Recovery Groups, Mood Disorders Groups and Art Groups.
In his spare time, Antonio participates in personal and professional development workshops, practice and teach Judo, hikes, does art and dances Salsa and other Latin Rhythms.
