I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. After living, studying, and working in the United States, Egypt, Kenya, and the Netherlands, I returned to British Columbia and spent nearly 10 years supporting immigrant and refugee newcomers to Canada. I became a counsellor because I wanted a more practical, tangible way to support folks who are struggling. I also knew, from working through my own trauma, that therapy can be an incredible tool for facilitating healing. Since 2020 I have worked as a clinical counsellor in a variety of roles, including two years supporting community members on a rural First Nations reserve as well as at a drop-in youth health centre.
I currently divide my professional time between private practice and work as a trauma therapist for a local not-for-profit. When I’m not seeing clients, I enjoy walking my dog and trying to convince my partner that life really is better when lived outdoors.
