Samantha Moore (RCC, MEd, BEd, BA)
Compassion, presence and curiosity are the foundation of my therapeutic approach. At certain points in life things can feel overwhelming and confusing, especially when approached alone. Our relationships and work may suffer, and we may feel like we are lost and working against ourselves. I work with clients of all ages to explore their experiences, relationships, values and beliefs, and to develop a better relationship with themselves at a pace that is developmentally appropriate, collaborative, and grounded in trust. By working together to create a safer and approachable internal world, we can begin to get curious about all parts of ourselves, notice patterns, process old wounds, and build self awareness, acceptance, and empowerment. Our work together will be relational, reflective, educational and experiential, drawing on your inner strengths, providing tools for self inquiry and resiliency, and meeting you wherever you are.
I value genuine connection, humour, mindfulness, expressive arts, and physical health as powerful avenues towards healing and overall wellness, and prioritize creating a warm and inviting space free from judgment. As a former public school teacher and practising school counsellor and clinician, I have a unique understanding of how attachment, development, and societal systems impact overall wellness. I specialize in helping clients with anxiety, life transitions, identity, hyper-sensitivity and neurodiversity, perfectionism, burnout, and supportive parenting. My approach is relational, collaborative, and attachment based, using theories of Emotion Focussed Therapy, Parts work (IFS), Somatic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Sandtray therapy and Mindfulness.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and hold an M.Ed in Counselling Psychology, a B.Ed in Secondary Education, and a B.A in Comparative Religion & Philosophy.
I offer in person and online sessions to children (8+), youth, adults, and families.
